The Trebby Awards
|
The Trebby Awards were instituted in 2002 to provide the boychoir and boy soloist art form a means of public exposure and awareness of recordings made and released during the previous year, similar to the well-known Grammy Awards. A volunteer committee helps to collect and sort through nominations from members of Voices of Angels and related groups, and in early February, a vote is taken on the matter at a website open to the public.
Award categories are as follows: Best
Solo Album, Best Track, Best Ensemble Album, Full Choir Album European
and Anglican styles and
Opera - Oratorio - Drama or Supporting Choir Album.
Ballots also include the
Hall of Fame category to honor the excellence
of boychoirs and soloists from the past, many of which no longer exist.
In
awarding Trebbys, it is an important secondary element to provide
information about the winning albums for the purpose of promoting sales,
benefiting all nominees in yet another way.
The Trebby Awards are tokens of appreciation for these
young artists, their talents and the great dedication they demonstrate
in sharing their talents with us all.
You can help determine which of last year's releases should be honored
with a Trebby Award. Follow this link (2006
Nominees) and you will find samples provided for each nominee to
help you in making your choices. And then use the
Official 2006
Ballot to vote and be a part of honoring this year's excellent
nominee boy soloists and boychoirs. Return on or after
December 2, 2007 to learn the names of the Award winners.
The Trebby Award Committee thanks you for your participation. |
